Whether racing flat-out, sprinting for road signs or charging at the front of the pack, the Vitus ZX-1 EVO gathers momentum quickly and holds speed with ease. It’s an uncompromising aero bike built for flat-out speed and maximum efficiency.

We’ve done the aerodynamic testing to confirm it exhibits 45 percent less drag than its predecessor, but we’re not going to try and fool you with fancy aero jargon and some un-provable claim that it’ll make you “x” seconds faster over “x” distance. The point is, the ZX-1 EVO is a wicked quick bike. Relaunched in 2021, the modern version of the ZX-1 is a remastered, reimagined and reengineered version of Vitus’ road racing bike. It’s lighter, stiffer, faster and stronger than its predecessor, and developed in conjunction with our pro riders to make a bike that’s not only technologically advanced, but functional at the pointy end of a paceline.

Our engineering team started from scratch for this latest iteration, using high-quality unidirectional carbon fiber to create a monocoque frame that’s lightweight, stiff and aerodynamically optimized. Lots of stiffness testing helped the team reduce material in key places, further dropping the weight and tailoring frame flex to be stiff where you want it and compliant where you need it. We’ve also beefed up the front fork and rear triangle to eliminate dreaded disc rotor rub when climbing or sprinting out of the saddle.

The ZX-1 EVO doesn’t neglect comfort for the sake of speed. The bike’s performance-oriented geometry slots the rider into a comfortable yet naturally aerodynamic position. To feel fast is to be fast — there’s no point developing a bike that performs well in a wind tunnel but is too uncomfortable to ride in the real world.

We’ve built this version of the ZX-1 EVO with a top-shelf wireless SRAM eTap Force AXS groupset, Reynolds deep-section carbon wheels and fully internal cable routing that leaves nothing out in the wind. The result? A bike with a stunningly clean aesthetic that carves through the air with outstanding efficiency.
